Kid's Ministry

Welcome to Salem Evangelical Children's Ministry, our ministry to nursery through elementary students. We aim to lovingly guide and equip your children to passionately pursue God. Each week, kids experience the life-changing power of Jesus and His Word through energetic worship, creative Bible teaching, and activities to help kids connect and apply God’s Word to their lives.


We aim to provide your children support for growth into a Christian life. 


We believe the Bible is vital to our ministry. We teach principles based solidly on God’s Word in an exciting, creative, and relevant way. Our Sunday morning programs include a week-to-week journey through the Bible over two years.

  • Nursery (Newborn-12 months)

    Our kids Newborn thru Kindergarten meet on the first floor of the education building.  The entrance to "Acorn Acres" is located near the Information Desk.  


    It can be hard to leave your brand-new baby in someone else’s care. Our nurturing nursery volunteers are here to make the transition as easy as possible. Meet our volunteers at check-in, where you can leave childcare instructions. From here you can relax with the knowledge that you are only a text message away as your child enjoys a safe, loving environment. Our nursery team is here to hold, rock, feed, change, and love your little one(s). We are here to nurture your child while you nurture your soul.

  • Beginners (Age 12-24 months)

    Our kids Newborn thru Kindergarten meet on the first floor of the education building.  The entrance to "Acorn Acres" is located near the Information Desk.  


    Head to the check-in center in the middle of  Education Building's 1st-floor hallway and provide childcare information via our registration form upon your first visit. Volunteers direct your child in play, reading, singing, blowing bubbles, and other fun activities. Also included in the care of your child is diaper changing, rocking, and any necessary naptime for sleepy kiddos. You can relax and know your child is in a safe, loving environment.

  • Elementary (Grades 1-5)

      Elementary-aged grades 1-5 meet on the second floor of the education building.  That area can be accessed by elevator or stairs near the Information Desk.  At 11:00am, they have Kids Church on the 2nd floor.  Parents can retrieve their kids there at 12:15pm.

  • Kids with Disabilities

    Our Little Lambs Sunday School class is designed especially for children ages 5-15 who have disabilities.  The class is staffed by loving people who offer 1:1 assistance when needed and have hearts that overflow with love for Our Little Lambs.  The class meets Sunday at 11 am in Room 204.

  • Nursing Moms

    A private nursing room is accessible through a private door off the main hallway. There is a live feed from the auditorium available so you won’t miss worship or the sermon. Water and a changing station can be found in this special room.

  • Wellness

    We ask that you keep your child at home if they have experienced the following symptoms within the past 24 hours:


    • Fever
    • Rash
    • Skin infection
    • Persistent cough
    • Non-clear, runny nose
    • Diarrhea
    • Vomiting

  • Safety

    • Adults and children are given corresponding family numbers for authorized adults to check in and check out children
    • Children will NOT be released without the proper number tag
    • Trained medical staff is available during each service
    • All volunteers are screened and background checked before serving in our classrooms
    • Twice yearly training is presented to all workers
    • A safe ratio of children to adults is required in each classroom
