Ricardo & Olga get married!

On Saturday December 17th we had the pleasure to see Ricardo and Olga get married. They had been together for 14 years and have two boys. Ricardo and Olga work in Intaca, the church that was built in August while an Irish work team was here. The wedding was different then the other 3 we had experienced before. Ricardo and Olga did the normal wedding vows but then they moved off the stage and sat on the side with their wedding party. Ricardo got up and sang his way to the platform while looking at his wife and then he turned toward her and put out his hand. Then she stood up and sang her way up to him and grabbed his hand and then they danced together. It was so beautiful. Soon after they had their wedding party join them on the platform. The dancing was like ballroom dancing. Then the man who was like the choir director turned to the crowd and said all those that are married come up and dance with us. As our field director was told to get up and dance with his wife, I got a little scared, but as I looked at Nates seat I remembered he had left to turn off the car alarm. The nationals came running to me asking where Nate was and that we need to go up and dance. Although I was sad Nate missed the beautiful part of Ricardo and Olga singing together, I have to say I wasnt sad that we missed going up and dancing in front of everyone. Soon after the ceremony was over and as we headed out, the nationals just kept asking Nate where he was, in which he replied, I was in the bathroom. It was a wonderful day and we are so happy that Ricardo and Olga decided to get married. We are so thankful for their work in ECC.

Please pray for them as they are working out in Intaca with the people there. We just found out today that the lady who we bought the land from in Intaca died today. Please pray for her family.

Thanks so much.
We love you all,
Deanna

Two months is too long!

Hello everyone, well im so sorry for how long its been since I wrote a blogger. We had a team here for two weeks in October and then friends in November for 2 weeks. We enjoyed our time but we didnt give ourselves much time to blog.

We were so fortunate to have a team from our home church come out and visit us for 2 weeks in October. They helped us build a church in Tenga and encouraged our family so much. It was so much fun to have them here. We learned a lot of new things about our Pastor Jim that Im sure many dont know. :) The whole team was a blessing to us all. It was so hard to see them go but we made it.

The next week we had Steve and Sarah Straus come visit from the states. It was so much fun taking them around and having them meet the people we work with and just for them to see what we do here. It was another time of encouragement for us as we got to talk with our friends and have time together just like we did 1 1/2 years earlier. We are so thankful for these times together with our church team and our friends that the Lord provided for us.

On Saturday the 26th of November we had the pleasure to see one of our national leaders get married. It was a wonderful thing for everything. We are seeing that the Christian Mozambicans are seeing the importance in Marriage because of what the bible says. We are so proud of our guys.

Right now we are getting ready for two guys that are arriving Friday to see what Mozambique can do with Micro credit. We are excited about what this means for Mozambicans. Please be praying about this.

We love you all and thanks God for you!
