Tenga Update & Prayer Needs

Tenga was great today! We did not have the lunch in the village, but God had better plans for us. We parked the truck and walked through the village to the school (maybe 1.5km). We had a time of prayer and when we finished there was a young adult walking up the trail we were on. We started talking with him and he accepted Christ by the time we were done. We had brought a Bible for another Man but he was not home. This was a great start to a new church plant in that village. Please continue to pray for this village named Tenga.
We are working at all the preparation for our trip north. I will keep you all up to date. You can be praying for:

1. Denis The leader we will be leaving there. He has lives in Maputo for about 4 years.
2. Our travel – It is a very treacherous road that many people die on
3. We will be showing the Jesus film, training leaders, and maybe had a baptism and a first communion while we are there.
4. We leave on the 18th and return on the 30th
5. Please be praying for Deanna and the kids, as I’m gone. They will be spending our first holiday in Mozambique by them selves.
6. There will be 5 or 6 people traveling on this trip; the names are Raul, Juca, Carlos, Melvin, and myself.

Tenga & Trip North to Zimbezi Gurue

Greetings All,

Thank you all for your prayer this last week. This week in the new village of Tenga things went very well. We meet with a number of families and one of the village elders, and they were all very open to us starting Bible studies with them next Friday. One of the ladies we talked to (probably in here late 70’s) wanted to take me as here husband to work her fields for her. I told her that would not work, but we will be going to her house for lunch next Friday and yes Deanna will be going. This village is only 45k’s outside of Maputo but a world away. Most in the village do not speak Portuguese but they speak Shangaan. So I’ve learned some new words this week, and am having fun with that. It was a great time of sharing and sitting out under the fruit trees talking.

A new prayer request would be for a trip to the far north here in Mozambique. One of our ECC workers is returning home to Gurue in the Zambezi province about a two-day drive from here. There is a church of about 80 men (they do not count woman and children). This church was started after Dinis gave his testimony and the Jesus film was shown. There has been one follow-up training trip taken up there by a few from the ECC team. This trip will be both to take their new leader and to train, do door to door outreach and to show the Jesus film once again. We will visit all the people that have ever attended the church and invite them back. We will be leaving on the 19th and returning on the 30th. So when your sitting down to Thanksgiving meal please say a prayer from my family as Deanna and the girls will be home alone for the first time. You can pray for safe travels for us, this is a very dangerous road and your prayers are greatly needed. You can pray that we will be spirit lead and many will come to Christ. Pray for the church and the organization of it, and pray for Dinis as he will be staying there when we return. We pray for you guys our supporters and our church family everyday. We love you and hope to see some of you over here next summer.

In Christ,
Nathan
