God blessed our time in Panda. The team was made up of Juka, Ricardo, Carlos, my nephew Daniel Lee, and myself. We spent our time training leaders and pastors of four denominations in our time there. There was one pastor of an AOG church and the remaining people would have come from three denominations of Zion churches. The Zion church is a syncretistic church, being Christian and traditional practices. We spent our days training in small groups, going through the “Good News”, and teaching on how to study the Bible in small groups in the church. We opened each day with preaching and closed each day in the same way. The final evening together after the message two of the pastors and seven other leaders accepted Christ as their savior. The following morning they requested a time of prayer in the Sunday service for the two pastors. One of the men had been a pastor for almost 20 years.
In the evenings we went to different areas in the Panda district to show the Jesus film. We showed in four times and each time had a great turnout and response. If you remember, there was a witchdoctor that accepted Christ in Panda. We found out upon arriving that he has passed away. You can pray for this family, as the uncle will not allow us to speak to the family anymore.
You can be praying for the work in this area. We had meetings with the local government in our time there. We shared our desires to work in their area with church leadership development, and requested land. They have given us a verbal agreement to give some property to develop a training center on. Please be praying for the trainers and the efforts to have monthly training in this district by February. We will be passing through Panda in November on our way to Gurue in the Zambezi Province to deliver the letter to the government requesting the land.
There was a donkey born in our time there. They have decided to name her Semanario because of the training being done. The photo above of the donkey she is about a day old.
