Zimpeto, Jesus Film & First Sunday - Photo's
Greetings Family,
Well the day in Zimpeto was awesome. There were plenty of those unplanned things that happen here, but the whole day was blessed. We started off by completing the church and rest room. Then we did a little landscaping and the finishing touches for the evening and the first Sunday service. The evening started off with a lot of singing and dancing in true African style. The worship band was made up of three guitars (2 acoustic, one bass) a drum and two lead vocalist. You would need to be here to truly appreciate it. The Jesus film started around 6:30 and there were maybe 200 people for the start of it but people continued to gather and I would estimate 400 people had come out to hear and see the gospel. Quite a few people raised there hands as to making some kind of commitment at the end, we talked and prayed with many afterward. Then it was all wrapped up with some more singing and dancing.
The first Sunday in Zimpeto was much the same way. It was to start around 9:00 and at 8:59 there were only the leaders there (3 people). By the time we finished singing and praying there were 40 people there, many of whom had never attended church. There were a couple ladies that are going to start coming without their husbands because they are involved in traditional worship. They both asked for prayer for their husband’s salvation.
To see God work is incredible. We feel truly blessed to be part of the ministries here in Mozambique. Please be praying for our field meeting on the 27th – 29th when we will layout next year’s goals. Please be praying for us this week, as we will be introducing some new training material for the ECC teams. We would ask that you also could continue to pray for our language learning.
In Christ,
Nathan
