Children's Center Update - August 2009

  Building Update 

What a mighty God we serve!  Thank you for your continued prayers for the construction of our New Children’s Center.  During recent weeks there have been a few minor challenges and delays related to specific tasks in the building process, but overall amazing progress continues each day.

Brick work is almost complete and preparation for the installation of metal siding has begun.  Exterior doors for the first floor will be delivered shortly and large glass curtain walls will soon be installed, along with exterior canopies.  This all equates to the outside shell of the building nearing completion.  We are on track to be “dried in” within the next few weeks!

As exterior work wraps up, interior aspects of construction continue.  Plumbing, electrical, and HVAC installation have been ongoing and the hanging of drywall has begun.  Furthermore, painting contractors have started work on exposed steel and sealing the brick.  Their efforts will move to interior walls once the drywall is installed and ready.  It has been so exciting to see such significant progress each step of the way!

A continued thank you goes to those who have contributed time and energy to the nighttime security efforts.  Generally speaking, our most recent stages of construction are a common time for experiencing considerable losses due to theft and vandalism.  To date, maintenance of a strong security presence has proven an effective deterrent.  Great job!

Overall, the New Children’s Center is coming together wonderfully and there is so much to be excited about.  Current analysis continues to indicate that the project is on schedule and within the expected budget.  Please continue to pray for the ongoing safety of everyone involved as the project moves forward and toward the homestretch!  Your support is thoroughly appreciated!
