Children's Center Update - April 2009

 Building Update

The steel is fabricated and most of it is here!  As you can see by observing the construction site, our new Children's Center has begun to take shape with delivery of steel, and assembly beginning.  Prior to arriving onsite, many of the steel sections were fabricated and carefully inspected offsite.  While it may have seemed at times during recent weeks that not much was happening, significant work was occurring both on the site and away from it.

Now that steel has arrived with some portions already being built, the size of the building and how it will look is becoming clearer to the casual observer.  Assembly of the steel framework will continue to be the most significant portion of the construction effort during the next several weeks.  A lot of progress will not only be seen on a weekly and daily basis, but also on an hourly basis at times.  It is an exciting time to keep an eye on what is happening, as the stite transforms into the new Children's Center!

Anyone who would like to observe construction is encouraged to do so from a distance or through the windows of the viewing area located on the second floor of the main church building.  For safety reasons, it is extremely important that only authorized construction personnel enter the construction zone.  It is extremely dangerous, especially during the stage that steel is being assembled.

Moving forward, all indications show that the project remains on schedule and costs are as they should be.  Your continued prayers and support are very much appreciated!
